Hurricane proof

Along the gulf coast of the US you get some heavy tropical rain, and we recently had a hurricane come through with torrential downpours. No, the jacket didn't get tested playing golf in a hurricane, but there was a need to go outside and check things during some of the heavy rain. After tightening up everything possible around the neck, wrists, and bottom of the jacket, and using GG rain pants and wide brimmed hat, I was surprisingly dry; just a very few drops came in over the neck area. The Alister really exceeded my expectations. The jacket fit is adjustable, and Galvin Green seems to run a little small for me, so I went one size up from my "normal" and I'm glad I did; the fit is perfect after adjusting the sides but will allow me to let it out a little for cold weather.

Outstanding, except for the European zipper

I've been waiting to review this jacket until after I played a few rounds and wore it multiple times and I love it. It flexes in all the right spots when you swing and keeps you dry like no other brand I've tried. It's stylish and goes great with the grey pants. My son and I played on a 53 degree day with rain and I was very comfortable. He was wearing a FJ rain suit and couldn't say the same. The seams leaked and didn't hold the body heat as well as my GG. My only two "complaints" are that being an American, the zipper is backwards and that takes a bit of getting used to. Also, I wish there was an internal pocket for a cell phone so I could keep my phone dry when I wear the jacket away from the course. The quality is excellent. You can't go wrong
